$640 Billion...
That’s how much money a “task force” in California, a free which never had any legal slaves, should pay in “reparations” to its black citizens. So, the good people of California, none of whom ever owned slaves, should shell out an ungodly amount of their hard-earned money to people who never were slaves and aren’t now. Unless, of course, you include government tyranny, which enslaves everybody.
I own a home in California, and technically am a legal resident of that state (having lived there before I moved overseas in 2010). I’m going to do some checking and see if I can find any black blood in me. My ancestors, who were from Tennessee and Texas, might have owned some slaves and, well, you know how that went. Find a slave in the ancestral wood pile and maybe I can pick up a few mill...Or why can’t I just claim to be black? If “Lia” Thomas can claim to be a woman, why can’t I claim to be black? And a woman? Lesbian. The amount of my reparations check is going up all the time, isn’t it.
But apparently, Governor Gavin Newsom is having some second thoughts about this stupid reparations plan, now that he knows the bill. Even HIS taxes might have to go up to pay the cost, and we can’t have that. The “reparations” cat is out of the bag in California, however, so he is going to have a hard time weaseling out of it. The money is all about buying black votes, of course, and if he backs off on the money he has promised them, BLM isn’t going to be happy. And you know what BLM does when it isn’t happy. Though how much more of an outhouse can they make that state, especially San Francisco.
I don’t know what it is about California. I lived there for about 15 years, and believe me, stupidity grows on trees in that state. No offense to you decent people reading this who live there. But you know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s in the water, or something. And they tend to export it to the rest of the country. “The cutting edge of societal devolution”, to borrow and change Rush’s phrase a bit. Beautiful state, California. The Granola State—land of fruits, nuts, and flakes.
