Bible Meditation: Psalm 119:7
Psalm 119:7—“I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.”
We should praise God, often, every day. We should praise Him with an upright heart: “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But the prayer of the upright is His delight” (Provers 15:8). We should constantly read and study God’s Word to learn about His “righteous judgments”. We do not, will not, cannot understand the full mind of God. His thoughts and ways are higher than ours than heaven is above the earth, and that is incalculable (Isaiah 55:8-9). It is His seemingly capricious ways that cause many people to reject Him. They seem capricious to us, but that’s because we can’t, and usually don’t want to, understand them. Sin is easier and more fun (for most people) than righteousness.
But the more we understand about God through His word, the more we will praise His righteous ways. We come to Him only by faith, not by sight (II Corinthians 5:7). And it is critical to remember that not all accounts are settled on this earth, in this life. Those who murder their unborn children and mutilate their children in the name of sexual perversion would do well to remember that.
