Everybody has problems. Such is simply the nature of this earthly existence. God never intended for earth to be heaven, or for us to live here forever, so there are stumbling blocks along the way that, if we are what we should be, will help build character and prepare us for the life following this (very) brief vale of tears. If you don’t like that, well, there’s really not much you can do about it, and you can discuss it with God someday, though you might have to shout in order for Him to hear you.
Most of our problems are caused by humans—our own poor decisions or those of others who can influence our lives and make them worse. “It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps” (Jeremiah 10:23) is one of the greatest truisms ever penned. But most people ignore it and try to direct their steps without the wisdom that comes from above, and, as a result, we frequently end up swimming in a toilet bowl, hoping no one flushes it before we can figure out a way of escape. It happens individually, to people, and collectively, to nations.
It is in the nature of God’s creation not for things to continually “evolve” upward and onward, but for everything to deteriorate, grow old, wear out, and die. We don’t need to be Leftist philosophers or scientists to see that. Some entities develop and improve for a while, but eventually they, too, collapse and succumb. Look at your clothes, your car, your computer, etc. They must either continually be repaired or replaced; they don’t get better over time. We can even repair our bodies a few times, but they can’t be replaced, and so eventually, like everything else, they, too, are tossed into the garbage bin of the flesh called “dust.”
Such happens to things, people, and nations, the latter of which are nothing more than a collection of the former. America, when young, grew strong and mighty, as children do for a few years. Children make mistakes, of course, and have problems like we older geezers do. Kids do stupid things, they get sick, and they can be affected by the horrible decisions of horrible people called Democrats. Problems. But, in general, a healthy human grows—for a season. And all of that is true of the American nation. The country had early, strong growth, with problems, often but not always, self-caused. Life. Problems. “It is not in man to direct his own steps.” As a species, humans don’t listen very well and certainly don’t pay any attention to history.
Republicans, Democrats, and the entire nation of America have some severe problems right now. The latter’s problems are frequently produced by the first two, but then, the latter’s problems have mostly been self-caused. Let me untangle that.
The Democrats today have a huge problem called Joe Biden. The man has always been very limited in his intelligence and talent, but he was persistent, and the people of the Democratic Party, because, as noted, most of humanity’s problems are self-inflicted, foisted this incompetent fool upon themselves AND the American people. Again, as noted, sometimes we suffer because of other people’s decisions. But the Biden problem is currently very grave for Democrats. The man has now coupled his stupidity with old age, senility, and a total lack of knowledge of where he is, or what he is saying or doing. And most American people, increasingly, can clearly see that. What are the Democrats going to do with their self-caused problem? Enter Kamala? Don’t be surprised.
The Republicans have a huge problem, too. His name is Donald Trump. Regardless of how good a President he was, or how good a President he might be again, millions and millions and millions of Americans hate him so much that they will never vote for him regardless of who his opponent is. It is a self-created problem. Instead of choosing another candidate, like Ron DeSantis, who might not be as revolting to those millions who hate Trump, the people of the Republican Party apparently have decided to again select him as their candidate for President, though knowing full well that those countless millions of Americans will never vote for Trump despite what he did before or might do in the future. We call the Republican Party the “Stupid Party” for a reason.
The American people also have a problem. All they need to do is look in a mirror to see it. In fact, the major problem America has now, sadly, is indeed her people—they who have given us, and who continue to give us, Democrats and Republicans, Bidens and Trumps.
Nations get old and die. That can’t be avoided if humans ignore the wisdom of “it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.”
Now, the question is, which of the two political parties will be, for a brief moment, smarter: the Democrats who find a way to get rid of Biden (very possible now), or the Republicans who find a way to get rid of Trump (won’t happen) and nominate a candidate who would be less nauseating to the millions of Americans who will never vote for him, even if Joe Biden is his opponent.
Again, ultimately, the prevalent problem America faces is her own people, who made the choices which have put the country into the perils it now faces. Many Americans have voted for Democrats. Many Americans have voted for Republicans. Democrats have ignored “it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” Republicans have ignored “it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” And the American people are ignoring “it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” Hence, America 2024.
Everything gets old and dies. Even nations.
