It was a glorious day for America on November 5. Kamala Harris, who was far and away the worst Presidential candidate in American history—it would have been a nightmare, probably the end of the country, if she had won—was defeated, and the pro-America Donald Trump will be President the next four years. Provided, of course, this 78-year-old man lives that long. But if he doesn’t, we’ll get J. D. Vance, and I don’t believe that would be a step down at all.
The day was made even better by the Republican Party capturing the Senate—at least 52 seats with the possibility of a couple of more. But 52 is a solid majority, and that is great news. As I write this, it does appear that the Republicans will also hold on to the House of Representatives, and might even be able to stretch their majority by a few seats. I don’t trust Mike Johnson as Speaker, but he would certainly be better than any Democrat. The Republicans will be able to do whatever they want the next two years, at least.
The question is, are they smart enough to do anything?
There is, obviously, much to be done to repair the horrible damage the Democrats have caused the past four years. And the Left will bite, scratch, claw, and scream as loud as they can to try to prevent Trump and the Republicans from cleaning up any of the mess the Democrats have caused. But...but...but...the Republicans own the Presidency, Senate, and House for the next two years! If they have the cojones, they can do a lot of good. But again I say, IF. The Deep State is powerful, and it controls a lot of RINOs. The opportunity is there. Legislatively, the Democrats can’t stop anything the Republicans want to do. This will be a matter of will—do the Republicans have the strength of character for “America First,” and to “Make America Great Again”? Trump can, and will, do a lot with executive orders. But some things need Congressional approval. Here’s hoping the Republicans will do what they should.
November 5 was a glorious day. But it was only the start. We can celebrate for a few days. Then, it will be time to get to work.
