On April 6, a court in Brazil order X (Twitter) to “block certain popular accounts in Brazil.” To his credit, less than an hour later, Elon Musk said he wouldn’t do it. “Principles matter more than profits.” Of course, Musk can say that, he is a multi-gazillionaire and losing a few million here and there won’t hurt him much. But one still has to admire his stand here.
It’s very possible that (if they haven’t already done so) the Brazilian government will shut down all access to X in that country. Last year, Brazil (supposedly) elected a far left-wing lulu named Lula de Silva, and, like Leftists everywhere, he is antsy for totalitarian control in his country. Like America, Brazil is not a dictatorship yet, but the Left is pushing in that direction. China, of course, blocks all Twitter accounts, and Brazil may do it as well very soon.
It’s everywhere, folks, and it always has been. Slavery isn’t uncommon in human history; freedom is.
