Headline: “US Commerce Secretary Arrives in Beijing as CCP Struggles to Save Its Economy”
(article by Dorothy Li in “The Epoch Times”)
I haven’t read the above article yet; frankly, I’m still struggling a little with the after-effects of cataract surgery. So I have to limit my reading at the moment. But the headline caught my eye.
And the first thought that went through my mind was, “yeah, let’s go over there and save the Chinese economy so that those mass murdering thugs can keep killing people by the millions and threatening the whole world.” Now, maybe I’m being a little unfair with the Commerce Secretary (Gina Raimondo), but I doubt it. China and the United States are (too) intertwined economically, so a collapse of the Chinese economy would affect America and the world. But, if the Chinese economy is in such dire straits (I’m not convinced of that, but I don’t have all the data), then this is a wonderful opportunity to get some concessions out of the CCP. Like, “Cut out the organ harvesting!” “Quit threatening Taiwan with war!” “Stop the Uyghur massacres and slave labor!” “Quit spreading viruses around the world and killing so many people!” A few things like that. Then America can talk with China.
Don’t hold your breath for Raimondo to demand any of that, however.
