Since Trump arrived on the political scene in 2016, the GOP has gone from:
34 to 26 governorships;
68 to 57 state legislative chambers;
241 to 222 House seats;
52 to 49 Senate seats;
1 President to no President.
I think Donald Trump was, by far, the best President the United States has had since Ronald Reagan. I will support him again next year if he is the Republican nominee. But it seems that maybe too many American people don’t agree. I don’t believe all of the above stats can be laid solely at the door of Donald Trump; Ronna McDaniel and Mitch McConnell are probably as much, if not more, to blame for this decline. But the stats are there and they don’t lie.
I’m just afraid Trump can’t win the Presidency again, that he has just alienated too many people, and a large number of those are Republicans. We have other choices, and a couple of them are pretty good. It might be wise to go with someone new and fresh. From all indications, however, Trump is way ahead in the race. We’ll see if that is really true when the primaries start in January.
