Let’s start small. Count to 1,000, one number per second. I’ll wait for you…no, I won’t, it will take you 16.6667 minutes, almost 17 minutes to count to 1,000 one second per number.
Now, count to 1,000 a thousand times. That’s a million. That will take you over 11.5 days. So, if you have 1 million 1-dollar bills, and count one per second, it will take you over 11 days to count them all.
Now, count to 1,000,000 a thousand times. That’s a billion. That will take you 11,574 days. That’s over 31 years. Get started if you have nothing to do the next 31+ years.
Now, count to one billion one thousand times. That’s 1 trillion. That will take you 11,74,074 days. Almost 12 million days. That’s 31,688+ years. Almost 32,000 years to count to 1 trillion, one second per number.
So, if Congress pays off 1 dollar of debt per second for the next 31,000+ years, they will have paid off 1 trillion dollars of their debt.
Now, multiply that number by 37 and you figure out, in dollars, the debt Congress has put the American people in.
