Iran Attacks Israel
Sauce for the goose, I guess...
So, Israel attacked Iran, and, not too surprisingly, Iran retaliated. Where does it go from here? I hope both are happy now and will settle into a long-term, peaceful relationship. Hahah.
My main concern is that the United States will get dragged into that mess. I know Israel is our “friend,” but…I’m still reminded of George Washington’s “no entangling alliances.” Sometimes wars are unavoidable, but I’ve lost nothing in either Iran or Israel, and I’d just as soon stay out of any fight between them.
Mr. Trump made some belligerent noises, however, but no promises—yet. As I noted in my last post, that part of the world is never going to be at peace, and unless our vital interests are seriously threatened, we should watch from afar. Watch closely, but watch from afar. We don’t need the military-industrial complex pulling us into that mess in the Middle East. But it might.
It’s not pretty, and it’s frightening. A powder keg. The Middle East always is. And we always seem to be in the middle of it. Nobody is going to do the right thing, so there is really no final solution. We’ll have to see what this latest batch of evil produces. I have no clue, and nobody else does, either.
