Israel and Hamas: A Rather Unorthodox Viewpoint
I must confess, I’m not a big fan of Israel. In the 1940s, they stole land that the Palestinian peoples had been living on for almost 2,000 years, ever since God booted the Jews out of there (under the Romans in 70 A.D.) for rejecting their (the Jews’) Messiah (read Matthew chapters 23 and 24—“Behold, YOUR house is left to you desolate.” It wasn’t God’s house any more.). Of course, stealing other people’s land is the way of the world. There is hardly a nation in history, including the United States, that doesn’t exist on land they took from somebody else. Israel did it, they aren’t alone, and it isn’t going to change. There are certainly a lot of Palestinian barbarians who hurt their cause. But Palestinians don’t have a monopoly on barbarism. There are quite a few in America now.
Regardless of what Israel did in the 1940s, the recent Hamas attack was brutal and provocative. Israel won’t put up with it; they will hit back and hit back hard. That is what Israel does, because they are in a very dangerous (especially to them) part of the world. No weakness can be shown. We can only hope and pray that this will not escalate into a general Middle Eastern war. With Joe Biden as American President, there is no telling how many ways he could screw things up.
Some are quick to jump on Mr. Biden a bit, saying at least part of the $6 billion he recently gave to Iran found its way into the hands of Hamas. This isn’t impossible, but I’m not ready to blame Joe yet. The Arabs and Jews have been fighting since Ishmael and Isaac. Just like Russians and Ukrainians, as long as there is one Jew and one Arab left in the world, they are going to fight. Nobody can prevent that.
The Arabs are still sore at Israel for 1948. Israel says, “Tough, come get it if you think you are big enough.” The rest of the world is caught in the malaise. Let’s pray cooler heads prevail.
