James Madison: “Taken Over From Within”
“If our nation is ever taken over, it will be taken over from within.”—James Madison
“A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has [first] destroyed itself from within.”—historian Will Durant
The two quotes above are almost axiomatic, but they have been proven true countless times in human history. Small, weak nations can, and obviously have been, conquered from without. But big, strong empires will never fall to an enemy until they (metaphorically) become “small” and “weak.” The weakness is mainly moral—a nation which loves pleasure more than it does work and duty will not have the internal fortitude necessary to resist when a people with hungrier mouths and stronger character arises. The latter people do not need to be numerically greater; none of the barbarian tribes which conquered Rome were larger than the empire in toto. Rome was internally weak through decades of decadence and degeneration, first among its leadership, and then spread to the rest of the populace. Read Daniel 5 to discover what was happening in Babylon. “That very night” the king was slain and there was the resultant collapse of his empire. Weakness and debauchery within.
James Madison knew that. Wise men always know it. Joe Biden doesn’t. He’d rather give “rights” to the most immoral, ungodly, debauched people in his country than to defend righteousness and godliness, which is the moral strength necessary for national survival. America is in the process of destroying itself from within.
