There Is No Solution to the Israel-Arab Conflict
Well, one exists, but neither side will accept it
I haven’t written or said much about the current “crisis” is Israel for a couple of reasons. Everybody else is writing about it—to no effect—and nobody is going to listen to me anyway. So, I’ve concentrated on other matters.
But I will say a few words. I’m a Christian. I believe that Jesus Christi is the Son of God and the Redeemer of ALL of mankind. Hence, I believe both sides are wrong in the Jewish-Arab/Muslim disagreement. The Jews rejected their Messiah, and frankly, have been suffering for it ever since, though frequently unjustly at the hands of so-called “Christians” who don’t follow the teachings of Christ. The Jewish people should NEVER be persecuted for their rejection of Christ. That is NOT what our Lord wants. “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” the Lord said. God will deal with the Jews in His own time. Barbarism on the part of fake Christians is not part of God’s ideal. It only hurts the true religion of Christ.
Contrary to the opinion of many “Christian” teachers, Israel does NOT have a part to play in any plan of God today. The Jews’ only “part” in “God’s plan” now is a responsibility to accept Jesus as Lord and obey His gospel. They have not done that, as a whole, and give no indication they intend to. That is what is requires of them, as God requires of everyone. Otherwise, the Jews have no special role in this world today.
Islam follows a false prophet, so I reject that religion, too. I’m a Christian. Again, I believe both Jew and Muslim are wrong. The source of the entire problem in the Middle East is two peoples who won’t do what they are supposed to do, viz., obey the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Neither ever will. Hence, there will never be a solution to that problem.
I don’t believe the Jews had a right to take Palestinian land in 1948, but I don’t believe that gives the Arab/Muslim the right to commit acts of terrorism. They are both wrong. I don’t support either one of them.
The only human solution to the problem is force. One side or the other will have to compel their enemy to submit. That will last only until that “enemy” feels strong enough to rebel again. Thus, a never-ending problem. The emotions, feelings, and beliefs are too deep, on both sides, for them ever to agree to “live and let live.” Not unless forced to do so.
The solution is one neither side will accept. What can I do? Well, I know what I am GOING to do. I’m going to write about America’s problems, Bible material, and try to get myself ready to meet God. And try to help a few people along the way. I can’t solve the Israel-Arab/Muslim problem because they aren’t going to listen to me. Neither side is going to listen to anything but the business end of a gun.
If they won’t listen to God, they won’t listen to me.
