This Seems Preposterous to Me
A recent poll from “The Hill” had Nikki Haley leading Joe Biden 55-45%. I find this utterly preposterous. I don’t know anybody who likes Nikki Haley. I know there are a lot of RINOs, and I guess that’s where she is drawing her support. And, if you ask enough Republicans of their choice between Haley and Biden, I suppose every Republican, and some Independents and Democrats, might choose Haley. But...it seems preposterous to me.
I’ve said many times that polls can’t be trusted, especially this far from the election. It is a waste of time to look at polls. They seem to have one major goal in mind—to ensure that either Donald Trump or Nikki Haley is the Republican nominee for President. Ron DeSantis is the one candidate they do not want. The liberals who take most of those polls don’t think Trump can win the general election, so they are trying to create a groundswell of support for him—the fait accompli nominee. It actually seems to be working. Texas Governor Greg Abbot just endorsed Trump. From Thailand, the tidal wave for Trump looks overwhelming.
But, if not Trump, go with the dumbest, most liberal RINO candidate the Republicans have—Nikki Haley. Her recent attack on the First Amendment, on top of her support for any war in the world, Disney, climate change, and who knows what else, makes her the ideal non-Trump, anti-conservative candidate. It isn’t enough to say, “She wouldn’t be as bad as Biden.” Just being “better than Biden” isn’t going to save the country. But, if you are a Leftist, if you gotta have a Republican, go with Haley. Or Trump (because he can’t win, you think). NOT DeSantis. It looks very much to me like Ron DeSantis is the one candidate the Left fears the most. And thus the polls are ALWAYS against him.
From current appearances, Trump will be the nominee. I say that, not because of polls, but because Republican websites I peruse seem to be lining up behind him and big names, like Greg Abbot, are endorsing him. Because of her popularity among RINOs, and his tendency to choose rotten people to help him, Trump might select Haley as his VP. He is going to irritate a lot of Republicans, including yours truly, if he does that.
But, as of November 20, 2023, in Thailand, all of that looks to be strongly possible.
