Uh, No, Nikki
Every liberal, totalitarian idea SOUNDS good. They can make it so. They wouldn’t have any followers if they couldn’t make their mass murder and oppression plausible in the eyes of countless people.
Nikki Haley recently said, “Every person on social media should be verified by their name” because of “national security.” Sounds ok, right? Verify people who are spreading lies and hate.
“National security.”
Yeah, right. Let’s give the government more power. Just what it needs. Just what America needs. Just what the world needs.
More totalitarian government.
I hate liars as much as anybody else. But if we give government the authority to punish liars under a broad rubric of “national security,” then where will they ever stop? Who gets to make the decision what “national security” entails? Do we want Democrats making that decision? I don’t even want Republicans making it, either. Haley’s suggestion, as nice as it might sound—“verify everybody on social media!—is incredibly dangerous. It is just another step in the encroachment of government into the lives of people.
Nikki, how about preaching virtue? Righteousness? Honesty? Decency? Morality? Goodness? Trust? How about teaching that instead of giving a government, which has none of those things, more power over its people?
We do NOT want that woman as President of the United States. Like too many women (sorry, ladies, it is the way God made you and we are so glad He did. It makes you good mothers), she thinks emotionally instead of rationally. If she is the nominee of the Republican Party...I’m not even sure I can vote. I certainly won’t vote for a Democrat. But I don’t want Democrat-lite, either. Totalitarianism is totalitarianism, regardless of whose mouth it comes from.
